5 Daily Habits: Confidence
There are a lot of daily habits that can be used to improve your life. Doing a few things here and there to increase your happiness, productivity, or whatever else you can think of can have a huge impact on your mood and your attitude. I started trying to incorporate a few helpful daily habits into my own life and I thought I'd also share some of those habits with you guys.
Today's 5 Daily Habits are focused on improving your confidence.
1. Compliment Yourself
When you wake up in the morning, think about something you did well the day before and give yourself a mental pat on the back. Or admire that adorable outfit you just put together. Recognize when you've done something well and give yourself credit for it. If you can't notice all the good things you're doing, how will someone else be able to do so? You deserve to feel good about yourself every day so make a point to acknowledge something good about yourself.
2. Focus on your Strengths
Instead of worrying about what you can't do, focus on what you can do. Maybe you aren't the best at writing, but you might be really good a drawing. That's awesome! There's so many ways to use that strength. Maybe you'll design a graphic for your sorority event or draw a sketch for a fashion company one day. Those are just a few amazing ways to use that strength. By focusing on your strengths, you can see your potential and have faith in yourself to succeed in the future.
3. Learn Something New
Learning is the best way to increase your confidence. The more you know, the better prepared you are. Learn something useful every day. Maybe you learn a new make up hack or you memorize a new vocabulary work to use in your next paper. Whatever it is, just be sure to pick something that will make you more comfortable in situations where you might feel lost or unprepared. By taking away the uncertainty of not knowing something, you're adding to your confidence.
4. Accomplish a Task
Everyone has a daily task list. If you're wanting to increase your confidence, complete a task on that list. Knock it out and feel like a champion for doing so. Go to the grocery store like you wanted to or complete your assignment for tomorrow. Every little achievement like this will increase your confidence because you'll feel in control of your own time. Don't let these things build up and weigh you down, just get them done and feel accomplished for the day.
5. Actually Get Ready for the Day
I feel a huge difference when I take the time to get ready for the day rather than just jumping out of bed and heading to class. If you spend time on your outfit and your hair, it just makes you feel better about yourself. You feel more confident because you aren't worrying about if you look terrible today. It's really hard to do this everyday in college because I love comfy clothes like nikes and giant t-shirts, but I try to at least do this on days that I know I need the extra boost.
I hope these five daily habits help you to become more confident in yourself. I've used all of these at least once. Each time I do one of these daily habits I have a more confident day. It's important to find ways to improve your confidence so that you can tackle all the obstacles that try to tear you down. Staying confident gives you the power to fight back and overcome anything that life throws at you.
