Benefits of Essential Oils
Last year, I started using essential oils. My mom's close friend is a retailer for Doterra, which is a company that sells various essential oil products. She started sharing the products with me and I quickly fell in love. Essential oils can be pretty beneficial. Especially for people, like myself, who don't like taking pills or other medications. I was skeptical about whether or not they would actually make a difference, as most people are, but I was very interested in finding natural remedies at the time and decided to try these oils out to see if they made a difference.
My first impression of the oils was that they smell amazing. I love having perfumes or scents in my room. I decided that I liked diffusing the oils into the air more than applying them to my skin directly because of the smell. Using a diffuser definitely makes the oils less concentrated and therefore less effective, but they still get the job done for me. I've used the oils to help with anxiety, depression, and plenty of other things. You can use them to boost your mood, ease stomach pains and relax your mind. My favorite oils to diffuse are pure lavender, a blend called citrus bliss, and another blend called cheer. Each one has a specific purpose, and Doterra does a great job explaining how to use their oils to improve your life.
Lavender is my sleep aid. I turn this on at night to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. If I have a rough night, the next night I'll turn on my diffuser with the lavender oil and it usually helps me to sleep much better. Citrus bliss has a bunch of different uses and it's my favorite oil blend. I mainly use it to feel refreshed and energized. It's called an invigorating blend and Doterra claims it can lift up your mood, cleanse the air and make you feel refreshed. I definitely feel a difference in my mood after diffusing this oil for long periods of time. It has a pleasant aroma too. The last oil I mentioned, which was Cheer, is a full-time mood booster. Cheer is a blend of oils designed to lift you up and make you feel a little more optimistic. When I had mild depression last year, this oil really helped me out.
In addition to the oils, Doterra sells products made with the oils. Usually, these products are a combination of essential oils and coconut oil or some other natural substances. I have the Breathe stick, which is basically another form of Vic's vapor rub. I use this every time I get sick. I actually think it works better than Vic's does. My favorite product would be the acne kit. It includes a face wash, oil spot treatment, and lotion. I tried so many different things with my acne and none of it really worked. I used Proactive, Clean and Clear products, and even prescribed topical creams with no results. After two weeks of using Doterra's HD Clear acne kit, I had much clearer skin. It was unbelievable. I also had bad scarring and dark spots from acne over the years, so I decided to try the Veráge Toner as well. It helped get rid of my worst dark spots and scarring within the first two weeks. I really love these skin care products.
Almost every essential oil I've tried has had a small impact on my lifestyle. Some products, like the acne kit, have proved to be way more beneficial than other products on the market. I've truly loved finding which oils benefit me over the past year. I am a firm believer that a natural remedy is always better than medication and that it can be just as effective. If you have any questions about the oils I use, feel free to send me a message. I'd love to share even more about my experience using essential oils with you.
