Spooky Cocktails

With Halloween approaching, I'm sure some of you are planning parties or gatherings with friends and family. Halloween is a fun holiday where people dress up and just act silly. You can also eat all the candy you want and not be judged for it. To get everyone in the Halloween party spirit, I thought I'd share a few spooktacular cocktail recipes.

Black Widow Cocktail

For Devilish Blackberry Juice

2 quarts of fresh blackberries or 2 (16 ounce) packages of frozen berries

½ cup of water

For Spooky Simple Syrup

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

For Black Widow Cocktail

6 oz blackberry juice

1 oz simple syrup

2 oz vodka

ice

blackberries for garnish (frozen or fresh)

Bloody Orange Cocktail

4 ounces vodka 2 ounces Licor43 8 ounces Orangina or 1:3 orange juice to club soda 3 ounces raspberry syrup (recipe follows) 1 orange plastic syringes (available at party stores)

Yield: 4 cocktails

Easy Apply Cider Champagne Cocktail

Pumpkin pie spice

​Raw sugar

A nice, dry champagne

Apple cider

Apple brandy

Directions:

1: Combine pumpkin pie spice and coarse sugar on a small plate and set aside. Pour a small amount of apple cider in shallow dish.

2: Dip the rim of the glass in the apple cider then dip into the spice mixture.

3: Fill each flute ¾ of the way with champagne and top with a splash of apple cider and apple brandy.

Candy Corn Cocktail

1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Whipped Cream Vodke 3 oz Sour Mix 2 oz Pineapple Juice 1/2 oz Grenadine Whipped cream for topping

Directions 1. Combine Smirnoff Whipped Cream Vodka, Sour Mix and Pineapple Juice in a shaker with ice, shake away

2. Pour mix into a martini glass

3. Slowly pour Grenadine into mix so it settles at the bottom

4. Top with whip cream

This recipe sounds delicious to me. I love pineapple juice and whipped cream. I found this recipe at Tammilee Tip's blog.

The Devil's Margarita

1½ oz tequila blanco

¾ oz lime juice, freshly squeezed

¾ oz simple syrup

Red wine, such as Cabernet or Carménère

1.In a shaker filled with ice, pour in tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake until chilled and pour into a glass.

3. Set a spoon at a 45 degree angle barely placed inside of the margarita. The back of the spoon should be facing the ceiling.

4. Pinch the top of the wine bottle with your finger and slowly pour red wine onto the back of the spoon and let it drizzle on top.

5. Pour until you have about ¼ inch of red wine in the glass.

Black Magic Jello Shots

Blue Layer:

One 3 ounce package Berry Blue Jello (1/2 cup powder mix)

1 cup boiling water

1 cup cold water

¼ cup vodka

Purple Layer:

One 3 ounce package Grape Jello (1/2 cup powder mix)

1 cup boiling water

1 cup cold water

¼ cup vodka

Supplies:

24 two ounce plastic cup with lids

Black sugar

The Halloween Express

3 oz Espresso

1 oz rum

1 oz maple syrup

1 oz half and half

Cinnamon sugar for rimming (Mix cinnamon with sugar with a 1:4 ratio.

1. Using your fingers and a couple of drops of maple syrup, wipe the rim of the glass with syrup. Dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar.

2. Put the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain and pour the contents over ice in a cappucino or Irish coffee cup.

Who doesn't love a good brew? I bet this one is delicious. This recipe comes from Creative Culinary.
